Lillian works to build community prosperity by weaving people and ideas together. She is an advocate for several important political and social causes, often speaking on human trafficking issues and local food. She believes building community is about justice, environment, sustainability, retreat. Using this philosophy and weaving people and ideas from diverse areas – public institutions, businesses, non-profits, farm owners and fishers with a community-focused approach – Lillian strongly believes that collaboration, cooperation and communication is key to local and global thriving communities. Noting that local is not just about miles, Lillian tirelessly works to promote local and global community development that is affordable, sustainable and just through speaking engagements; writing, policy development and consulting. Thanks so much for making the lard class with Deb available in our area. I found the class to be most interesting and I feel inspired to render lard on my own. It was great fun to learn about its versatility and at the same time learn the importance of making your own (vs.using commercially made).
